Jude’s expands kids’ range with fruit and veg rocket lollies

Independent ice cream brand Jude’s has launched a new line of ice lollies that combine both fruits and vegetables.

Jude’s Fruit & Veg Rockets are made with naturally sourced ingredients and no refined sugar.

They join a growing line-up of products aimed at children, alongside Jude’s existing frozen milk lollies and two different flavoured milks. The independent producer is better known for its premium range of ice creams for adults, developing a selection of half-litre and 100ml tubs in sophisticated flavours like caramel-pecan and black coconut, as well as more recently a range of miniature ice cream sticks.

The latest rocket lollies contain 32kcal and less than 10% sugar, making them the lowest sugar content frozen treat on the market today, according to the brand. This also puts them at 46% below Public Health England’s recommended sugar levels for children’s ice cream products by 2020 and under the recommended sugar levels for yogurts as part of the Childhood Obesity Plan.

Jude’s managing director Chow Mezger said: “The Little Jude’s fruit and veg rocket Lollies address [the] sugar concerns of parents, with less sugar than your average yogurt. They are also a fun and tasty way for children to get nutrients from fruit and veg, which can often be a challenge! We’re proud to be leading the way and offering parents and kids a delicious, healthier everyday treat.”

Jude’s Fruit and Veg Rocket Lollies will be available in packs of six 55ml lollies, available exclusively at Sainsbury’s in the UK from 5 May with a retail price of £3.50.
