Premier Foods has launched a new line of Bisto seasoning mixes, available in three variants: chilli con carne, chicken casserole and spaghetti Bolognese.

Packaged in drums, the flexible format is said to allow greater control over flavour intensity and portion size.

With the range, Premier Foods said it is aiming to attract more shoppers to the seasonings category while also driving expandability through usage across more meal occasions.

The company said that extending the drum format to seasoning mixes gives Bisto “a distinctive place and clear stand out on shelf”.

“We know that shoppers have less time to create delicious meals from scratch during the week, and don’t want to have to buy countless ingredients to bring classic dishes to life,” said Savan Sabharwal, Premier Foods marketing controller for flavours and seasonings.

“Bisto seasoning mixes offer excellent versatility, providing consumers with guaranteed results and the ability to flavour with confidence, no matter how few or many are at the dinner table.”

Each flavour is packaged in 170g drums, contains 16 servings and is available in the UK for £1.65.

Earlier this year, Premier Foods released a range of microwaveable Bisto gravy pots. The line is marketed as a mid-week solution for solo meal occasions, fragmented family mealtimes and for people with busy lifestyles.
