Don Lee Farms brings its vegan burger to 15 more countries

Don Lee Farms is expanding the availability of its organic plant-based burger to 15 countries as it responds to consumer demands for meat alternatives.

The product, which was launched in the US last year, is vegan, gluten free and is said to “sizzle on the grill just like raw beef”.

The burger will be available within months in 15 countries, including in Europe, South America and the Caribbean.

Donald Goodman, president of Don Lee Farms, said “We are thrilled to be introducing these organic burgers for the first time to a global audience. We have made it our goal to bring our organic plant-based burger, along with our other popular plant-based and meat proteins, to more people than ever before.”

He added: “Other brands talk about sustainability. At the same time, all of them use artificial ingredients banned in some countries outside of the US. We are proud to be able to provide a truly sustainable solution.”

Danny Goodman, development at Don Lee Farms, said: “As we expand beyond our borders and continue our family tradition of innovation, we will continue to roll out items that bring sustainable choices to a global consumer.”

The announcement comes a week after Impossible Foods released its next-generation Impossible Burger, which contains 0mg of cholesterol, 14 grams of total fat and 240 calories in a quarter-pound patty.

Free from gluten, animal hormones and antibiotics, a new recipe sees the burger get its meaty chew and texture from soy protein, not wheat protein.
